This is obvious, if only because the transmission of information by means of Internet resources has clear laws and principles of perception, based on the same laws that apply in practice psychology in everyday life, business, advertising, relationships between people, in the end. What is important here? Color, text, graphics …

The visitor visits the site, begins to consciously and subconsciously read the information. Feelings awakening in this case are actually a psychological reaction – positive, negative. All this is possible to calculate, analyze, correct – you only need to know how.

As usual, nothing needs to be invented. For decades, scrupulous scientists gathered knowledge, formed effective conclusions, reflected the information obtained in tons of works on psychology for all occasions.

To succeed, you only need to competently manage this knowledge and put it into practice in order to influence the mood and behavior of your visitors, in general, to control the situation.

4 components of success
Today I want to give you the most useful information, so without further ado, let’s move on to practice. In web design there are only four main components that significantly affect the psychology of user behavior:



Text design.


You need to learn how to operate them perfectly, then you will never have problems with creating popular resources. Let’s go in order.

Space. The organization of the space of each web page of the future site is the main stumbling block, both at the training stage and at the time of creative crises of already experienced masters. Space is a priority of any project, every centimeter must be taken into account.

Well, for example, the “white area”, part of the canvas without visual filling. This is an indispensable element, its task is to increase concentration on important accents, rest for the eyes, etc. It is not worth ignoring it. Or the “principle of minimalism”, which obliges to minimize everything that blinks, is chaotic, too secondary for perception to be too complicated.

Content Design frames the content in the necessary frame. Let’s not forget that visitors come to the site for information in the first place, and only then for creative special effects and other tinsel. Everything matters: the number of characters on the page, line width, indentation, headings, etc.

Do not obscure the text with visualization, for each element take its place. Keep track of the purity of the content, the correctness of the links, the relevance of the data provided, and the absence of elementary typos. All this can negatively affect the attitude to your brand, and, by the way, move from the web to the real space.

Text design. I will dwell separately on typography. Once again, I remind you that the design of the text can cause much more resentment among visitors than even not too relevant information in it. You don’t have to chase all the CSS achievements at once, implement all possible fonts, bells and whistles of letters in one project.

Each style has its own generally accepted font: official, solid, academic, news, technical, futuristic, sophisticated, prestigious, etc. Learn to catch this fine line between them.

Further, the construction of the text, its readability through intervals, paragraphs, air in lines, sizes. Typography also addresses the issues of color schemes in texts, on which background what color to write, how not to ruin your site before its birth.

Color. We will talk about colors separately, the psychology of color in web design is generally a very responsible and extensive topic. Color can convey everything: feelings, emotions, convey the most important. Modern designers rarely (especially when it comes to commercial projects) experiment with colors, for most cases they are already selected and work successfully. Let me give you a couple of examples:

sites dedicated to natural cosmetics or household chemicals are 60% green – this helps to associate them with nature;

sites of high-tech products use blue color – reliable and confident;

if it is a culinary site, 70% it will be beige and cream color, causing appetite and association with air cream;

yellow is energy, you need to look for it on sites about outdoor activities, sports, especially in combination with gray and turquoise.

There are many factors influencing how a person perceives information:

someone is easier to handle the visuals;

someone is better to hear once;

and someone perceives phenomena exclusively tactile.
